Novak Djokovic won a record-extending seventh China Open title in Beijing on Tuesday after Alex de Minaur retired at the start of the second set. Djokovic took the opening set 7-6(3) before both players called for medical timeouts. De Minaur returned to win the opening game of the second set but could not continue because of a groin issue. The title was Djokovic's 102nd at tour level and extended his perfect Beijing record to 34-0. He also became the first man in the Open Era to win a tour-level singles title in 21 consecutive seasons.

Carlos Alcaraz defended his Japan Open crown in Tokyo with a 7-6(4), 6-4 victory over Jiri Lehecka. The No. 3 player lost serve in the opening game but rallied from 2-4 down in the first-set tiebreak. He broke in the seventh game of the second set to finish the 96-minute final. It was Alcaraz's first tour-level trophy since Doha in February after missing months with a wrist injury. He is the first man to repeat in Tokyo since Pete Sampras in 1993-94.

Seventh seed Karolina Muchova beat 12th seed Naomi Osaka 7-5, 1-6, 7-6(7) in 2 hours and 52 minutes to reach the WTA 1000 quarterfinals in Beijing. Muchova converted her ninth match point with a backhand volley winner after saving repeated chances in the third set. The 2024 Beijing runner-up trailed by breaks in the first and third sets before closing out the fourth-round win.

Fourth seed Mirra Andreeva beat Daria Snigur 6-2, 6-2 in round-of-16 play, breaking five times in just over an hour. No. 19 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win over fifth seed Linda Noskova without dropping serve. Alexandrova reached her first Beijing quarterfinal and becomes the oldest first-time quarterfinalist in China Open history at 31.
